In the fast-paced world we live in, finding ways to enhance creativity and mental clarity is essential. Surya Anuloma Viloma Pranayama focuses on breathing through the right nostril, stimulating the pingala nadi, which is linked to solar energy and action. Let’s explore how this breathing practice can boost creativity, when to do it, and how to incorporate it into your routine.
Chant 3 Oms to Begin Your Practice
Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and chant three Oms. This helps center your mind and prepares you for a calm, focused practice.
Ready to supercharge your intellect and tap into your creative genius?
Step by Step instructions
Sit in a meditative post (Ensure your trunk and spine are straight - retrieve energy from the sun)
Breathe deep and relax before starting
Using your right hand, form Nasika Mudra which is closing your left nostril with the ring finger
Inhale slowly and deeply through your right nostril
Exhale fully through the same right nostril
Keep your left nostril closed throughout the practice
Ideally, we should exhale slower and longer than the time taken for inhalation. One cycle consists of a complete inhalation and exhalation through the right nostril. Practice for 9 rounds.
In conclusion, Surya Anuloma Viloma Pranayama is not only a powerful tool for enhancing mental faculties but also contributes positively to overall health when practiced regularly and correctly.
While Surya Anuloma Viloma is generally safe, it’s important to listen to your body.
